SURF BANDIT
I’d like to use this page to fill surfers in on what patterns are
working best for me at a given time during the season. The season is
just about to get underway so I will start with a pattern that produced
consistently for me last season when the fish first showed up..
Surf Bandit
- THREAD: 3/0 Uni-Thread
- HOOK: Mustad 34011 size 1-1/0
- TAIL: Long saddle hackle tied in praying hands style with two wide
shorter hackles tied in splayed
along side.
- SKIRT: Marabou plume tied over and around tail.
- FLASH: 5 strands of flashabou doubled up and tied in over tail. 5 strands
crystal flash tied in same way.
- EYES: zinc plated lead dumbell eyes.
- BODY: I use larva lace strip foam and wrap on to form a smooth fluid body
up to the eye of the hook. I then coat the foam with E-Z Shape Sparkle body.
- PREFERRED COLORS: White, Chartreuse, Black
